Abstract (Émergence et reconnaissance : au cœur d’une analyse de la problématique du Même et l’Autre chez Emmanuel Levinas)

The term emergence is used much more nowadays and in
particular in the media. The meaning attributed to it seems to be reducible
to the economic order. In this specific context, emergence is often
employed despite the existence of appalling human misery. However, in
its essential dimension, emergence, understood as a profusion of values,
unfolds in a life of proximity, of recognition that the ethical relationship
between the Same and the Other requires in Emmanuel Levinas. This
ethics of the relation which he proposes, it seems, that the front on which
a substantial thought of emergence can be ensured for the radiance of the
human being.
