Code of Ethics

1. Editorial Integrity

Uirtus is committed to maintaining the highest standards of editorial independence and academic rigor. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit of the work, its relevance to the journal’s aims, and its contribution to the field. Personal characteristics or beliefs of the authors—including race, gender, religion, or political views—have no bearing on editorial judgment.

2. Peer Review Process

We uphold a rigorous, fair, and anonymous double-blind peer review process. Reviewers must evaluate submissions objectively, provide constructive feedback, and disclose any conflicts of interest. Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and respect the intellectual property of the authors.

3. Author Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. They must fully acknowledge the contributions of others and obtain permission to use any copyrighted material. Authors are responsible for the factual accuracy of their work and must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

4. Plagiarism and Misconduct

Uirtus maintains zero tolerance for plagiarism, fabrication of data, falsification of information, and other forms of academic misconduct. Submissions found in violation will be immediately rejected, and the responsible authors may be permanently banned from future submissions.

5. Transparency and Openness

Uirtus is an open-access journal. All published content is freely accessible without barriers. We believe in transparency regarding licensing, copyright, and the financial costs of publication, and we clearly communicate these details to authors and readers.

6. Confidentiality

All manuscripts under review are treated as confidential documents. Editors, reviewers, and staff must not disclose information about a submitted manuscript to anyone outside the editorial process without explicit permission from the author.

7. Conflict of Interest

Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any personal, financial, or professional conflicts of interest that could influence their work or its evaluation. Uirtus will take appropriate actions to ensure that conflicts do not compromise the integrity of the publication process.

8. Respect and Professionalism

All parties involved in the journal—editors, authors, reviewers, and staff—must engage respectfully and professionally. Harassment, discrimination, or hostile behavior will not be tolerated.

9. Correction of Errors

If significant errors or inaccuracies are discovered after publication, Uirtus will work with the authors to issue prompt corrections, retractions, or clarifications to preserve the integrity of the academic record.

10. Ethical Oversight

Uirtus is committed to maintaining ethical oversight across all stages of publication. Concerns about potential misconduct related to submissions, published works, or any other aspect of the journal’s operations can be reported confidentially to the editorial team.
